Mint essential oils show similar effects, but differ in intensity and aroma. The aroma of peppermint essential oil (Mentha piperita) is more pungent as opposed to spearmint (Mentha arvensis) . The aroma of spearmint (Mentha spicata) is milder and sweeter.
